Street smart design in a small space

Kornuit is a lager from the Grolsch family, brewed by the new generation of brewers. Just like Grolsch, Kornuit is part of Asahi Europe Ltd.

In 2018, Kornuit launched their new campaign Made of Moments - in which they focus on collecting experiences instead of material wealth - and the corresponding visual identity.
With this campaign, the young brand pulled away from Grolsch. Kornuit asked us to turn the Johan Cruijff ArenA skybox, which until then had been completely Grolsch styled, into a Kornuit experience.

In the skybox, several functionalities converge within a small space; watching games or concerts, meeting or brainstorming and of course enjoying Kornuit beer.

In the room there is space for all the activities mentioned; a brainstorm corner with a conference table, the self-service point around the refrigerators and the seating area with a sofa and chairs. These last two parts are connected by a multi-level bar along the entire glass front with a view of the field.

The Made of Moments concept was implemented in the design by street-smart material choices and solutions, such as brick uprights for the various bars. The irregular tile pattern on the wall of the bar section and the unfinished-looking paint marks on the walls give the impression that the space is built in the moment with materials that were available at that moment.

The street-smart and in-the-moment designs are finished with proficient details, such as embroidered hop icons in the chairs and leather upholstery of the sofa, or the hand-painted icons on the inside of the lockers that are used as a wardrobe.
